Australian bird photography enthusiasts on Darwin tour
Bird photography enthusiasts take some beautiful photos of a large variety of water birds, eagles, kites and other Australian birds while on this one day tour from Darwin. Travelling through such a diversity of ecosystems in one day brings contact with many different species of birds.
 A Black Kite in full flight |
 A three Kite squadron feeding on scraps on the water | Flocks of these kites can be seen agressively feeding wherever prey or scraps are available. For example they will often move close to fires to feed on insects flushed by the heat. These birds have the unique ability of eating from their tallons while in flight so they do not have to land in order to devour their prey. These photos were taken from the Adelaide River Queen. |
| In a very different setting, a photographer takes advantage of abundant waterbirds at Fogg Dam while the tour bus waits discretely in the background. A small group allows the flexibility to make the most of the unexpected. | Tourist taking photos |
Visitor Book Comment;
Loved Fogg Dam - will return - and Litchfield. Appreciated the opportunity for bird watching - and I saw a new bird for me- the Orange-Footed Scrub Fowl. Loved the waterfall swimming too. Thanks Joan Wharton, Sydney |
 Wading Birds | Fence sitters ( probably politicians) |
 The speed of the White breasted Sea Eagle is captured in this picture |
These are good examples of photos which capture the beauty of Australian wildlife. Of course because this nature, we can never say with certainty exactly what will be seen on any given day. More pictures which have been taken can be seen here...
The diversity of birds at Fogg Dam has to be seen to be believed.
