Outback Crocodile Adventures Map

Use the Outback Crocodile Adventures Map to follow the route to the famour Jumping Crocodiles in the Adelaide River, and then on to Litchfield Park for swimming and bush adventures.

If you are taking a tour with Goanna Eco Tours, the exact itinery will vary slightly depending on the weather and tidal conditions at the time of the tour. As experienced Northern Terroitory Tour guides, they will know how to make sure you are in the right place at the right times through the day for the best possible adventure experience.

If you will be driving your own vehicle, please take the time to check on local conditions for roads and flooding. As a tropical monsoonal area, Darwin and it's surrounds can experience extreme weather conditions which can change in a matter of hours.

Follow the yellow dots on the Stuart Highway which runs south from Darwin, and for the first 35K is a modern dual carriageway. At the junction of the Arnhem Highway, turn left and travel a further 35 k's to the Adelaide River to join the Jumping Crocodile Cruise.

Stuart Highway

There are several places well worth a small detour between Darwin and the Adelaide River. The first is the nature park at Howard Springs with it's barramundi and turtles, then Fogg Dam, famous for it's birdlife, and also the Wetlands Visitor Centre at Beatrice Hill. The tour will probably visit all three, again depending on tides and seasons.

After the Jumping Crocodile Cruise, the tour will head back towards Darwin and turn hard left at the Stuart Highway to travel further down the road to Litchfield Park. The entrance to the park is on the far side of the small town of Batchelor, where the tour stops for a cool drink of bubbly or orange juice and a delicious buffet lunch at the Rum Jungle Motor Inn.

The road through Litchfield Park is sealed from Batchelor to Wangi Falls, however from Wangai Falls north to Berry Springs is a rough dirt road which can be made impassable by water. Even the sealed roads can be cut by sudden heavy monsoonal downpours, making local knowledge of conditions essential.
